Join us at the Monte Rio Supper Club for dinner prepared by our featured chef, Helena from Baked on the River. Doors and dinner open at 6 pm, with live music from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Due to limited capacity, please arrive early to secure your spot. Bring your own beverage to enjoy, and wine glasses will also be available for purchase, with proceeds going toward supporting Friends of Monte Rio programs throughout the year.

ANNUAL SPRING CELEBRATION
Saturday March 30 | 11 to 2pm | Monte Rio School & Monte Rio Bridge

The Spring Celebration is a family-friendly event that includes an egg hunt, games with prizes, an egg toss from the Monte Rio bridge, a silly parade (where costumes are encouraged), music, and appearances by the Easter bunny and friends. It's a fun-filled day for children and families alike!

KARAOKE CHOIR - BRAND NEW EVENT!
Thursday March 21 | 6 to 8pm | Monte Rio Community Center

Love to sing but too shy to do a solo?  Wish you could be in a chorus but can’t read music?  Love to sing along with your favorite bands? Come join the Karaoke Choir!  Sing along, just for the heck of it, with a big group of other wannabe singers, to the music videos (with lyrics!) of all your favorite songs! Sing the lead, sing the backup parts, sing along with the instrumentals, just sing for the sheer fun of it!  Bring whatever you like to drink and come on down to make some joyful sounds!

Autumn is fully upon us, and we can't think of a better way to welcome in the Winter Season than with you! See you at our next Supper Club on Monday, 12/11, with doors opening at 5:30pm.

Across the United States, community leaders of different ages, backgrounds and geographies are fighting for criminal justice reform. Their work has tangible impacts on the lives of those around them and together they look to a future where no one is left behind. Independent Lens Bridge Builders is a series of short documentaries highlighting these change makers and their communities, collectively crafting a picture of the reform landscape nationwide. 

Special Guest: Adamu Chan

Along with his film, “How we Heal Each Other", Chan is a filmmaker, writer, and community organizer from the SF Bay Area who was incarcerated at San Quentin State Prison during one of the largest COVID-19 outbreaks in the country. He produced numerous short films while incarcerated, using his vantage point and experience as an incarcerated person as a lens to focus the viewer’s gaze on issues related to social justice. Adamu draws inspiration and energy from the voices of those directly impacted, and seeks to empower them to reshape the narratives that have been created about them through film.

This year our theme is “Be Our Guest At RioFest”, a new initiative inspired by the many stories we have heard from new residents who relocated during the pandemic, and now call West County their home. Numerous times we’ve been told how, after being isolated and new to the area, attending RioFest was a balm and a concrete introduction to the people and the community. FoMR will specifically call upon residents to bring new neighbors and will invite newcomers to the special Welcome Center, hosted by Friends of Monte Rio and the Monte Rio Chamber of Commerce.
